10 mindset shifts that 10x'd my income
Income is a thinking problem before it's a working problem. Ten shifts that did more for my bank balance than any tactic.
I didn't 10x my income by working 10x harder. I worked roughly the same - I just thought about it completely differently. These are the ten shifts that moved the number.
The 10 shifts
- 01Sell outcomes, not hours
The moment you stop pricing your time and start pricing the result, the ceiling lifts. £100/hr is a job. £5k for a specific outcome is a business.
- 02Raise prices before you feel ready
If nobody flinches, you're underpriced. The right price is the one where 1 in 3 says no - and the right clients say yes faster.
- 03Audience > algorithm
Algorithms rent attention. An email list, a phone, a Whatsapp group - those are owned. Build something the platform can't take back.
- 04One offer beats ten ideas
Most people are broke because they're 'exploring'. Pick one offer, one audience, one outcome. Run it for 12 months before you add anything.
- 05Distribution > product
An average product with a great audience beats a perfect product nobody sees. Spend at least 50% of your time on distribution.
- 06Charge for thinking, not just doing
Strategy, judgment and taste are the highest-priced skills in any market. Get good at being asked, not just used.
- 07Your network determines your floor
Three years of intentional relationships beats three years of cold outreach. Be useful to 50 specific people; let the rest go.
- 08Reinvest the first wins into leverage
Tools, hires, education. Spending profits on lifestyle locks you into the version of you that earned them.
- 09Stop confusing being busy with being paid
Busy is for employees. Paid is for problem-solvers. Audit weekly: how much of what I did this week actually moved revenue?
- 10Become unembarrassing about money
Quote without flinching. Talk numbers in plain English. Money discomfort is the most expensive habit you'll ever keep.
How to implement this quarter
- Pick ONE offer. Write it as: 'I help [who] get [outcome] in [time] without [pain].'
- Raise the price by 30% on the next quote.
- Spend 60 minutes a day on distribution - DMs, content, calls. Same time, every day.
- Reinvest the first £1k of new profit into one tool or hour of expert help.
- Friday review: did this week's work move revenue, or just feel like work?
What I learned
I thought I needed a better skill. I needed a better frame. The same effort, priced and positioned correctly, paid 10x. The hardest part wasn't the work - it was getting comfortable charging for it.
